The St. Louis region has long been steeped in military history. Dating as far back as the American Revolution, the area has contributed mightily to US war efforts. St. Louis in Service showcases the stories of service members from St. Louis and delves into the city's wartime history.
Soldiers Memorial's signature galleries tell the story of major US conflicts through the lens of St. Louis, with sections dedicated to pre–World War I, World War I, World War II, and post–World War II time periods. Nearly 300 artifacts are on display, ranging from the earliest artifacts in the collections, to the War of 1812, to the War on Terror.
